Conflict is part of life. Every day we face challenges that we need to handle or accept. Life is difficult. We need a bag of tools that we can access when there is a challenging situation that we face.

In this course you will explore what conflict is. You will be made aware of how communication can get wrongly interpreted and how messages can be translated. We will uncover different personality types to understand how one’s “lens” can improve the decoding of messages.

Conflict is a disagreement or argument that if not properly handled can lead to broken relationships. We explore conflict through the Johari’s Window and learn how we can understand people.

Lesson 2

The impact of conflict

Conflict can impact us physically, emotionally, and socially. In this lesson, we explore its impact, what triggers conflict and the behaviours that lead to conflict.

Lesson 3

Personality theories and conflict

Each personality style reacts differently to conflict. We unpack how each personality type reacts to conflict and learn ways to handle the diversity.

Lesson 4

Skills to handle conflict

What skills are needed when there is conflict, what is resilience and different reactions to adversity.

Lesson 5

Resilience as a conflict skill

In this lesson, we explore the principles that will drive us to thrive, the common mistakes we make when going through adversity, and how to apply the ATAC model which can reframe thoughts and perspective after an unhappy event.

Lesson 6

Human interaction in destructive relationships

We explore the Karpman Triangle also known as the Drama Triangle, skills to handle temper tantrums and tools to listen better.

Lesson 7

Techniques in response to conflict

Do we compete, compromise or accommodate during conflict? Each person reacts differently when in a conflicting situation. We need to Stop, Think and Act in order to control our emotions.

Interconnectedness in conflict situations

In this lesson we explore the theories of personalities. We explore the 9 Enneagram personality types and how they react to each other and interact with each other in conflict situations.

Lesson 9

How your purpose affects your conflict style

We explore the principles of Spiritual intelligence, what Emotional intelligence means and the key elements; self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.

Lesson 10

How stress can exaggerate conflict

In this lesson we explore ways to reduce stress and how to positively confront someone during conflict in a stressful situation.
